Youth field trip coming, Jan 23rd 2026
Folks I am happy to announce we have approx. 25 youth scheduled to visit us on Jan 23rd 2026. The purpose of this visit is to learn about the RC hobby of aviation. Our goal will be to introduce them to the hobby with some show and tell (model aircraft for them to see and ask questions about). Real Flight simulator for them to get their hands on a control. Trainer with buddy box set up for anyone that wants to get in the air and experience it firsthand. Our plan for 2026 is to reach out to the youth in our area and get them interested in the hobby. We will need all the support we can get to pull this off and be successful.
Monthly Club News and Events
Folks we had our first meeting for 2026 and had our best turnout in a while. We discussed the upcoming school kids visit on Jan 23rd. we will be at the field setting up around 8 AM that day weather permitting. We have volunteers to help out, and we volunteered some others to do demo flights! Susan Oconnell has volunteered to cook some homemade cookies fir the event. Tio was at the meeting too!
We also discussed the club mower repairs and fabric for the small aircraft.

Tips and Techniques from the past:
Temax tips By Ted Brian Rodwicz
Fish fuel tubing through firewalls using a soda straw. Cut a taper at one end and stuff the fuel tubing in the other. the result is a needle you can use to pull the fuel tubing through.
Splice Nyrod housings together with soda straws. Sand the outer housings and use zap ca on the joints.
Craft stix (popsicle stix) have 1000's of uses including holding fuel tanks in place and supporting Nyrods.
Battery Pack dating:
When installing new battery packs use a permanent marker (sharpie these days) to write the date on your battery.
